About the event
The true story of the remarkable and long life of a Kindertransport boy Günter Stern, who fled Nazi Germany, cared for by two very different British families, joined the British Army, opened a successful Travel business in Norwich from nothing, was an active fundraiser for Lions International for over 60 years, and was made Sheriff of Norwich in 1975. An uplifting true story of survival and success against all the odds.
Joe and biographer Phyllida Scrivens, worked together for four years to produce this inspiring biography, published by Pen and Sword Books in 2016. Phyllida will tell the story of Joe Stirling, alongside insights into her incredible research journey, including visiting the Rhineland to find Günter’s birthplace.
