About the event
Quite a few people have 'grandfather clocks', or Long Case Clocks, as they are called. Some even have one that was made in Harleston!
But did you know that they were made here as far back as the 1600s that Norfolk was a centre for making them? That Harleston was itself a major player in this?
So, how and why did this happen? Find out about this important aspect of the town’s past through an illustrated talk by local historian Gordon Lascelles and local clock mender, collector and enthusiast, Malcolm Wiles.
