'Reading the Timbers' is an expression used by the Essex Architectural Society and suggests that by studying the frame work of timber buildings a picture can be built up of their history. East Anglia is blessed with many examples of the ancient carpenters' work and this talk reflects some discoveries over the last 30 years.
Peter Lawrence will be presenting a detailed exploration of the history and significance of East Anglian Timber framed houses.
