About the event
Belief in magic and particularly the power of witchcraft was once widespread in popular culture; people created and concealed objects to protect themselves from harmful magic.
In this lecture Timothy Easton will talk about the evidence of witchcraft beliefs which has been discovered in the fabric of buildings. Timothy has worked as a painter and sculptor for the last 60 years. Because his training has helped to build a memory bank of curiosities this has enabled him to link archaeological mysteries and write about possible interpretations not previously found elsewhere. Apart from the understanding he has given to unusual buildings, he has been curious to examine the individual methods that occupants created to protect themselves inside their rooms in uncertain times.
