It's in the Post

TALK - Part of a series of talks created for Heritage Open Days. A history of Harleston’s messaging and mail service over the centuries.

It's in the Post

Tue 15: 2:30pm

This account tells a varied story covering the ins and outs, ups and downs and modes of messaging, types of transport used and also the surprising range of Post Office locations in Harleston over many years. We start before people could read and write but needed to send news and then see mail boys, mail coaches and trains, vans and bicycles all helping us receive the information we need via the Royal Mail today.
