Museum

 

The Harleston Museum was opened in 1982 to provide a permanent home for the exhibits depicting local history. It is open on Wednesday and Saturday mornings from 10:00am until 12:00pm from May to September.

Heritage Open Days

Every September thousands of volunteers across England organise events to celebrate our fantastic history and culture. It's your chance to see hidden places and try out new experiences – all of which are FREE to explore.

The Heritage Open Days for 2023 will run from 8 to 17 September.  Harleston have joined the programme and some of our historic buildings in Harleston will open their doors.

We are looking for items of local history. Do you have something which may be of interest? You may think what you have is worthless.  It may not be worth a lot of money but its history may be important. We have had donations ranging from medieval manuscripts to macabre mousetraps. Please let us know if you have something.
